We are the Seattle Solvers, a former FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) team with 2 years of experience who have now transitioned into a FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) team. The team currently consists of 7 members, all freshmen at Eastlake High School and Tesla STEM High School in Sammamish, Washington. In our 2022-2023 FLL season, we reached the state championship and won 3 awards in various categories including Innovation Project, Robot Design, and the Champion’s Award. In this past season in CENTERSTAGE and our rookie year in FTC, we were the Finalist Alliance Captain and won the 3rd place Motivate Award at our interleague.
Now, we are looking to participate in the Into the Deep 2024-2025 FTC season to further develop our skills and learn new concepts. Our goal for the season is to be competitive at state, and over the coming seasons even be part of the few elite teams that get the privilege and opportunity to attend the world championships. In order to achieve this we need your support in the form of Tax deductible donations.
SPREADING STEM:
We are passionate about STEM and spreading FIRST's mission to spread robotics and love of science. Our team runs FLL classes for 4th and 5th graders, teaching kids the basics of how different sensors work, and concepts for building and programming robots , and more. All kids leave the class ready to compete in an FLL (First Lego League) Competition. At the present time we are mentoring 3 FLL teams as they prepare to compete in the competition this year.
The team is also looking towards larger goals to sustain the team past this year. One of those goals includes starting an FTC club at our local High School (Eastlake High in Sammamish, WA) this coming spring and rolling out a district-wide robotics curriculum/program that enables elementary students to learn STEM and have the same opportunities that we have had.
