As a mutual aid network, our primary goal is to use our reach and funds to support smaller, local mutual aid efforts across the city who are doing direct, on-the-ground work. MALAN has very small operating costs, so the vast majority of donations go directly to funding those small, local efforts such as the ones you can see us boost on our Instagram or in our Group Directory who are already plugged in and providing survival supplies and essential services to their neighborhoods. We also purchase survival supplies such as water, food, masks, hygiene supplies, and other essentials and distribute those directly to people across LA as well.
ATTENTION: Please double check all of your payment information and make sure your billing address (Address/Number/City/State/Zip Code) fully matches your credit card information.
We know it's almost the end of 2024, but for now, take a look at our 2023 Year-End Update (https://tinyurl.com/malan23) to get a better idea of our projects and how we spend funds. It covers...
1) FUNDS - what came in and where it all went.
2) PROJECTS - Updates and progress on The Dispatch newsletter, Hygiene Hello! Kit Building and Produce in the Park.
3) NEWER PROJECTS - All about our Poli-Ed Reading Group, Open Art Supply project, several database projects in the works and Resource Responders
4) COLLABORATIONS & MORE - A quick review of some one-time (for now) events, workshops and visits from folks experienced in a specific area and generously lent their time and knowledge to us at no cost. Additionally, this covers a few rogue updates like our on-going collaboration with LA Community Fridges and our transition to using Discord as a communication platform.
Thank you, again. And please don't hesitate to reach out (info@mutualaidla.org) with any questions.
